2 MAY 2012 hansei

Original plan for today was Streamlined Sales Tax administration Acknowledgement Query. IRS SafeGuard issue with secure end-to-end transmission of FTI from Tumbleweed to the Data Warehouse interfered. Installed and configured trial WS_FTP server, WinPcap and WireShark. Tried to get WireShark to monitor localhost transmissions so I could verify that Filezilla was encrypting the transmission. Tried installing Microsoft Loopback Adapter. Succeeded in getting this PC to fail network drive connections. Misunderstood Server Team 4 - we use cygwin SSH for sftp transfers. Now downloading cygwin packages. When attempting to follow a poorly understood action plan, can spend lots of extra time backing-and-filling.

Distance learning needs participation

Baker College has embraced collaborative learning as the core of its distance learning approach; Lansing Community College has not pushed collaboration as a part of instructional design. In my sections, Baker students tend to post at least twice a day, LCC students twice a month (or less). I believe that I need to restructure how the LCC classes work, because I don't see the LCC students mastering object-oriented programming as well as the Baker students.
